Hello! I'm Abhishek

An energy enthusiast and an aspiring researcher. I am a postgraduate in Energy Engineering with specialization in Materials from Indian Institute of Technology Mandi with the second-highest CGPA of 9.04/10. Currently working as a research scholar in the propulsion group, at the Department of Aerospace Engineering, IIT Kharagpur.

Research Interests

My research interest lies in the area of sustainable energy production, reaction kinetics of chemically reacting flows, alternate / renewable fuels, green hydrogen energy, supercritical fluids, hydrothermal processes, combustion, and emission control.

In 2018-19, I worked on simulation of combustion of RCCI engine with hydrogen as a secondary fuel during the course project at Renewable fuels and IC Engine Lab, IIT Mandi. In 2019-20, I worked as a research intern at KIT Karlsruhe, to study the simulation of flow and thermal flow field of the continuous hydrothermal synthesis reactor and developed a turbulence-chemistry interaction model to analyze the reaction kinetics for the production of ceria nanoparticles in the supercritical range of water. Currently, I am studying the effect of alternative fuels on combustion and emission at IIT Kharagpur.

Master's project

2019-20

at ITTK, KIT, Germany

Simulation of the particle formation during continuous hydrothermal synthesis (CHTS) of metal oxide nanoparticles

  • Simulation of flow and thermal field for the CHTS reactor and their validation with the experimental results.

  • Simulation of reaction kinetics of CHTS process and calculation of residence time distribution (RTD) of the particles in ANSYS Fluent.
